This is my first attempt at throwing something up
on the internet so please bare with me. A lot is going to change on this
site, so come back often. All comments and opinions are welcome, just send
them to [email protected].
Having said that, let me say a little bit about myself. I am 23 years old
as of June 1999 and live outside of Toronto, Ontario. I recently graduated
from Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo with a Bachelor of Arts Degree
in Economics and am currently working for a beer distribution company in
their accounting department. It may not be what I want to do my entire life,
but for now it's keeping me busy.
1999
September 18th - I added another
picture to my artwork section, it looks a lot better at 300x300; I cut it
down and compressed to speed up viewing. I also made the two banners on
the artwork page for the two webrings I'm on. The Buffy page should be working
fine now too. Let me know if there are any broken links or pictures.
October 10 - Happy Thanksgiving
Canada! I've put up a couple new pieces of artwork since September but haven't
kept track of them on this page. I'm working on putting pictures of the
records I have in the hobbies section. There are about 60 records I have
on the page, so it's going to take a while to take pictures and adjust them.
I'll be using a digital camera, so I won't have to worry about film or developing.
a buddy of mine just picked up a top of the line camera, but mine does the
job for me right now.
October 16 - Completed al the thumbnail pictures of my records and uploaded them. I'm thinking of changing the footer buttons into something a little more high-tech or different. I'm working on one right now that looks kind of like a car stereo with a faceplate. I should have a pic done this weekend. Looking at my counter, over 800 person have come to my site, either by fluke or by choice. It doesn't matter to me how you got here, I'm just glad you took the time to look around!
October 22 -
I've added a picture from the School's Out Degrassi movie to the trivia
section. I've been busy at work the past week and haven't really worked
on any new VGAs through the week. I did finish one off just this past Sunday;
it's the last one on the Artwork page. I'll begin to work on a Grease page
as well as a "The Breakfast Club" page this weekend, you'll be
able to access it through the 80's page.
October 27 - I have been using any free time I have working on
the Breakfast Club page, I should have something up this weekend. I just
received a record of John Travolta in the mail today. Instantly I took out
the camera and put it up in the hobbies section. If Mr. Travolta ever comes
to the Toronto area for a book or movie promotion, I'll be sure to get it
signed.
November 4 - It's taking me long than I expected to do the
TBC page just a lot of ideas and suggestions rolling around in my head.
I won't release it as a link until I'm content with it. Right now I've done
the ground work for the main page and one for each of the cast members,
I now have to get info on each of them and plug it in. If you want to be
kept updated on my progress, write me an email and I'll give you the link
to what I've done so far.
November 11 - Work was been insane the past week! I can honestly say I've been at the office close to 12 hours each day since last Monday. i thought the extra hour gained from daylight savings would help, but to no accomplishment. I've been working on my site offline as much as possible in my spare time which is very slim. Hopefully things calm down and I can get some free time for myself. the TBC page is slowly progressing, I'm not ready to throw up a link yet, but very soon.
November 15 - I'm working hard to get the TBC page finished. I've got all the kids' pages done and filled in with their filmographies. I'll be putting up a link to it from the 80's section towards the end of the week. I added the Zit Remedy song to the Degrassi section and worked on a picture for it.
November 16 - The TBC section is finished and up and running. I'll try to finish off the Zit Remedy page and then try to get back to drawing.
November 20 - The Zit Remedy section is operational, I'll probably work on it a litle more, but it's ready for the public. I couldn't believe I found a picture of their tape on the 'net! I added a counter to the bottom of the TBC page to see how that one is going. Once the Degrassi page is finished, I think I'll take a break and start working on VGAs again. I corrected a mistake in my Degrassi section. I said that Tim took Liz to the Scum concert when he in fact took her to the Pogues! Thank you for setting me straight Katie.
November 27 - Work is still taking up most of my time these days, so I haven't done anything on my site. I did manage to find another Mini-Pops album this weekend, which brings the count up to 5 of 6. I don't know anything about this phantom 6th album out there so I'll have to dig deep to get some background info on it. There should be a new picture of the album in the hobbies section. I have also joined The Big 80's Webring to get some more traffic to my site. Hopefully the TBC section starts to move a little faster. I'm working on a few logos and banners for my site and a few clubs I'm in, but in regards to VGAs, those are on hold for now. My counter was showing over 1000 hits, but due to a server problem it was reset zero. I changed the starting number to 1000 this week and we'll take it from there.
November 28 - Pictures of the new albums are up in the Hobbies section. I changed the quote on the main page too, Puffy's been there since I started up the site, so I thought it was time for a change. Other pages have been tweaked for little errors and corrections. I just got rid of the Java applet because on the main page; for some reason my computer has been freezing everytime I run applets on the web. A few more record pictures have been added too.
December 4 -
This year is just flying by! Work has slowed down to a manageable pace which
is nice. I made an mp3 of one of the mini-pops medleys for a friend this
week, I also hooked up my stereo to the computer for a surround sound feel.
The satellite speakers and subwoofer are through the line-out on the sound
card and the rear speakers connect to the speaker-out. I tried to splice
the line-out so they'd both run out of it, but it wasn't sounding right.
For anyone who likes Degrassi, I've been told that on Dec/10th there will
be a reunion of the cast members on Jonovision. It's a Canadian made talkshow.
I'll have to tape it and put updates on the Degrassi section this coming
weekend.
December 22 - Happy Holidays! The colors
on this page are quite fitting for the season don't ya think? I have been
working on the Les Mis section since the last update and am ready to go
public. It can be accessed from the Hobbies section and under musicals.
I made some mp3 samples of the songs and put them up too. I'll start to
work on the Phantom section over Christmas. I will also be working on a
web site for work in the near future too. I corrected the Buffy picture
that wasn't showing up today as well.
December 26 - With Christmas out of the way, I can get back to working on my site. The Les Mis section is finished; for some reason, the pictures aren't showing up so I'll be working on that today. I'm working on adding a loop for the 80s that should be ready by the time you read this. It took a while to get it to repeat perfectly. I'd like to do one for the Degrassi page too.
